Do we equip our NQT’s ready for the classroom?

This is a big question, it is often raised whenever the question of teacher retention and recruitment is discussed. From my own experience I was given a very limited set of tools before entering the classroom, during discussions with my colleagues it became very apparent where you completed your training was key; not only the university but also the schools.

This can only be widening now we have the diverse range of training available! in my opinion we need to give our teachers as many tools as possible to enable them to be ready for any situation in the classroom. Teaching them flexibility in all things is essential, being able to adapt to who is in your class and what is happening is the key!
